Should a local church decide on a single translation or use multiple English translations?

In the debate/discussion between these three scholars debating their respective translations (NIV, CSB,[1] and ESV). I agree with their answer.

Moo (NIV): I think, myself, it is good for a church to decide on a single version that will be preached from, that will be put in the hands of the people for their own study, for gathering, for Sunday school, for Bible studies. In certain contexts consult other versions, yes. But I think it’s a good practice, myself, for a church to decide on a version and pretty much stick to it.

Clendenen (CSB): I agree.

Grudem (ESV): I agree.

So at CrossView, I’ve decided to make our teaching translation the CSB, but I need to clearly articulate to our church why.

[1] Unwisely called Holman CSB or HCSB.
