As I’ve read a bit on church planting and as we’ve been preparing the church to be established and serve the Christians and non-Christians in the L.A. community, I’ve tended to get more excited about evangelism, ecclesiology, church-planting, mission, than God himself in all of his splendor and breath-taking glory. That being said, God really rebuked me in love through a comment by a church planter in Austin Texas when he wrote on his blog:
We need churches that are more concerned about pointing us to the multi-faceted splendor of Jesus Christ, than the innovative ways we can be the church through community or mission.
Thanks Jonathan (the brother who wrote that).
