Three Reasons Why I’m Not an Amillennialist

Filed under: Albert Mohler, Systematic Theology — pjtibayan @ 11:14 am

Russ Moore hosted The Albert Mohler Program this week and answered a question about amillennialism and why he does not believe in that interpretation of the end times.  Here are the reasons Morre rejects the interpretation:

  1. The Bible nowhere teaches that disembodied souls rule the earth (which is what the saints are doing according to this view).
  2. We (the church) are not reigning right now (he referred to Paul in 2 Cor. though I think he was referring to 1 Cor. 4:8ff.)

My reason to add to Russ Moore’s:

The binding of Satan in Revelation 20 as being bound right now does not make sense to me if they say he is bound by the cross, because he is supposed to be unbound before finally defeated (Rev. 20).  For him to be unbound and yet be bound still by the cross doesn’t make sense in this interpretation, and how Satan becomes un-defeated by the cross that had defeated him makes the view implausible to me as best as I can understand Scripture at this point.
